Wow, this was a banner year for sucky music, wasn't it? I agree with almost all of your putrid-green Top 11, only have a soft spot for "Kiss You All Over".

But:
"Because the Night" came out this year.
"Baker Street" is a great song
"Native New Yorker" showed that disco could have class
"Flashlight" crossed over
"Useta Be My Girl" was a classy return to the charts for the O'Jays

Didn't Bowie put out anything pop this year?

Besides, we could listen to the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, and all the other great music. I also was listening to Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Celtic folk music and a pile of Latin American Nueva Cancion songs from Victor Jara, Violeta Parra and many others.

By the way, was this 1977 or 1978?
