Staying in SF

I booked a room at the Best Western Civic Center (The "Best Western Lone Star") for Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights. Saturday the city is apparently full, and I can't seem to find a reasonably-priced room anywhere north of the airport. So that will be a good night to go exploring!

I've wanted to see the Winchester Mystery House ever since I read Tim Powers's "Earthquake Weather." This looks like my perfect opportunity to drive down to San Jose, see the house and spend a night down that-a-way before returning to SF on Sunday for John's performance. Anyone want to go with?

I'll trust you to poick a place to eat. It looks like we'll be getting a few more come down from SF on Saturday for Lunch and Winchester Mystery.

we should shoot for noonish for lunch, and the house after...? How long will it take me to drive down from SF?

it will take you about 45 minutes to an hour to drive down...but it is an easy drive.

We should just eat at FLAMES because it will be easy to get into that place at noon...and the bears eat there often so it is a good place.

I will love going to the Mystery House with some bears.

OK, I'll post that we're meeting at Flames at noon, and the Winchester Mystery House afterwards, and see who shows up.

excellent..also post that there MAY be parking issues in that parking lot since it is a Saturday...but they can always park in the parking garage at SANTANA ROW across the street and walk over
