Cinemark CEO gave $9,999 to anti-gay Prop 8 bigots

FUCK! I still try and avoid attending any of the "Megaplex" theaters because of the Brokeback Bullshit of 4 years ago. I've been spending my movie dollars at the Century - only partly because it's closer. I just feel a tiny bit better about myself by not patronizing Larry H. Homophobe.

Now the news breaks that the douchenozzle CEO of Cinemark(which purchased Century a while back) gave almost $10,000 to the Yes on H8 campaign in California. Even though he lives in TexSucks... sorry, I meant Texas.

The ONLY theater in the valley showing "Quantum of Solace" that's not owned by Cinemark or Larry H. Miller is the terminally ratty Westates Holliday, just north of the huge mud pit that used to be Cottonwood Mall. They have the worst popcorn I've ever tasted -- microwave Kroger store brand is better!

We'll be there for the 1pm show on Sunday. Shit!

Darn Westates for having no $$$. I do miss the affordable admission, however.

What about Carmike Ritz or West Jordan? They seem to be showing it and I think West Jordan may even be all digital projection (166 W Fox Park Dr). These theaters are starting to show their wear too, but are a bargain (at least in West J).

Oh yeah, that could work. The Carmike over by the E Center.

Thanks!
