OK, so I was in the liquor store yesterday (I was out of Stoli!!!) and as I was being rung up, some vapid Billy Joel dreck came on the Muzak. I made some comment about the sheer awfulness of Billy Joel, and the be-dredlocked twentysomething scanning my bottles smiled a wise smile, as if to let me know that he also considered Billy Joel to be the lamest of the lame.
And today, I find this. This author and I independently came to the conclusion that it was time for Billy Joel to Go Away. And no, nobody had emailed me the Hipster Talking Points to alert me to the fact that it was "Piss on Billy Joel Week."
