Beach Reading II
Apr. 28th, 2009 07:15 pmWell, it rained all morning, so instead of the beach, we went shopping, then drove around the island, then more shopping, then we dropped off the rental car. John and I did walk down to the beach for a few minutes, ran into a friend we made yesterday, then came back.
I did read about a dozen pages of "Full Circle" today, as well as the opening pages of Michael Chabon's "The Yiddish Policeman's Union," which is absolutely amazing. I didn't read enough FC to form an opinion yet, except the opening scene is a bit romance-novelish for my taste. But I'm hopeful it will get better.
Oh, and we did upgrade the timeshare to a 2-bedroom unit, so next year we will have week 19 (it is currently week 17) and a MUCH nicer pad to look forward too. W00t!
