[whiny bitch mode] Fiftysomething rockers need to be more careful. Two of my three big concerts this summer canceled because a band member fucked him or herself up, requiring surgery. First, Bono. Now, Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's. If Macca falls and breaks a hip, that's three for three. [/whiny bitch mode]

In non-whiny bitch news, I wish Bono and Jane a speedy recovery and hope they're able to reschedule their tour dates soon.

I'm going to write a post someday on why music is dying. There's so many reason. It's not because of Bono, The Go-go's & Macca but when these three will go rest in their retirement home, who whould we turn to next for great music & concerts?

I saw Crosby, Stills and Nash last weekend. They put on a great show, but it was really obvious they were being very careful not to overdo it. Stills played several killer solos, but then he'd need the next two songs off to recover. It was funny that the guy who came across as the most energetic was the one who spent most of the 70's and 80's trying to fry his brain.

I got an email on Tuesday, I think, to the effect that the SLC concert is rescheduled for May 24th (I think) next year.

And I saw Paul McCartney that same night. He was pretty damn good, although when he jumped on the back of his guitarist as they went offstage before the first encore did make me GASP! in worry for Paul's 68-year-old hips ;-)
