Fun with Kinko's

Kinko's employees are moronic fuckwits, as we already knew. I was trying to print some big B&W posters on the "plotter" -- it's a printer that prints big B&W prints.

The idjut assisting me tried printing the poster like 5 times (on 36"x50" paper) and every time it printed about 3/4 of the image, then just stopped... He tried everything; printing out smaller copies (worked fine.) So I had to go to another Kinko's to get them done (they should be finished in another hour, so I have to go back).

After looking at the poster about a zillion times the fuckwit asked (and I swear to Buddah this is true) "In he a wrestler?" I wanted to say, "He doesn't know how, but he can teach you how to play naked twister... or butt darts!"*

But I didn't have the balls to actually say it.

I used to be one of those idjuts... a management idjut, even.

If they're the same xerox oversize as I remember, those b&w plotters have a really crappy postscript engine, it's a miracle that anything prints on them at all.

Damn, I KNEW this was gonna happen! No offense intended, o anonymous one!

Yeah, it was the Xerox. The Kinko's employees told me SPECIFICALLY that .pdf was the best format to print from. I asked. I could've rendered it as a .jpg, had I only been told! D'OH!

So the second Kinko's location printed them for me, but for some reason the text all printed out in a different font than the font in the .pdf file. How is that even possible? I'll say that's a crappy postscript engine, alright!

I considered telling them "no thanks" and leaving, but ended up paying for them, just to avoid myself more hassles. Hell of a way to run a business.
