Sending 19-year-old boys out as Mormon missionaries is the best indoctrination technique ever invented. You really can't imagine how hard it is to leave after spending what amounts to 10% of your entire life doing the bidding of the brethren.

I'm amazed Scientology hasn't come up with anything similar...

nope they have a worse technique, complete cut off from everything friends and family. they make it so your whole world revolves around their church, then threaten to cut you off completely if you dont do what they say.
thats what one ex scientologist told us when he visted our class. His own wife and children refused to acknowledge he existed unless he did "what was right" what ws right? blackmail someone using private information that was shared between a person and a priest or whatever they call themselves.

its why i hate organized religion. Once it brought unity, now...religion has no place in running a country. What should be a law is that no office can accept money from any religious institution. i know that wont stop private support but atleast it be a start. 20 million to push their limited prejudice views, imagine what that money could have been used for?
