Elijah Black on Bearradio.net
May. 16th, 2005 07:46 amI'm listening to one of Elijah Black's songs on bearradio.net. This is the first time I've heard him on bearradio.
Elijah is an amazing artist, and I hope he can get some more exposure.

Date: 2005-05-16 10:23 pm (UTC)Elijah is GOD!
Date: 2005-05-16 10:39 pm (UTC)He twisted his ankle this morning and was in considerable pain, soaking it in a bucket of ice! Any positive vibes would certainly be appreciated!
I was the second one to let him know he was finally being played on bearradio; Dave Montana had already emailed him before I did.
And it turns out Dave Montana is a friend of my buddy Carlos; Carlos was a fan of a band Dave was in years ago in Puerto Rico.
I stand by my contention that we're all no more than 2 degrees of separation from EVERY other bear on the planet!
tattered hat & Dollar Store Mary
Date: 2005-05-16 11:02 pm (UTC)I spent the last 3 days listening to "Self-Titled," the 2002 EP by the defunct canadian band Dollar Store Mary. Led by Dave Taylor (www.davidjtaylor.com) it's 6 sizzling tracks of really well-produced power pop. I bought it years ago off mp3.com, when they used to be an outlet for unsigned music. I dug it out of the "wall of CDs" when I remembered Dave and his music last week; Dave and I used to chat online back in the day.
I haven't listened to it since it was new. I remembered being impressed; listening now I'm gob-smacked. It's awesome. And the louder you play it, the better it gets. I'm in love!
Dave has a new CD coming out soon. I can't wait to hear it.
This is what radio will sound like when I'm in charge: XTC and The Records and Plimsouls and Fountains of Wayne and Badfinger and Big Star and Death Cab for Cutie and The Go-Go's and Dollar Store Mary.
