I'm thinking about inviting all the same-sex couples who were forcibly divorced last month to come to Salt Lake City on Valentine's Day, 2009. We'll stand in front of the Catholic cathedral before walking the few blocks to the Mormon temple. No big noise, no big speeches. Just 18,000 couples (and their kids, if they got 'em) showing the Mormons and Catholics who religious tyranny hurts.

Date: 2008-12-03 09:16 pm (UTC)why Utah at all? There's a lot of anger focused at the LDS Church for it's role in H8. I'd like to channel that anger into some kind of effective, nonviolent, gently confrontational demonstration that might have the power to move some hearts.
That's it, really. I think this might move our cause in a positive direction.
